  • It is noticing that at circuses, carnivals, fairs and at amusement parks, there are certain food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and many others which people readily buy and enjoy. In 17th century the best-selling items included hotcakes (pancakes) at events and fairs. Later in 19th century the expression selling like hot dogs was changed to any product which was instantly bought up by the people or which immediately got vended because of its popularity.

The tickets of famous stars movie shows sell like hot dogs.
