Ace up Your Sleeve

A matchless hidden advantage and ability of a person that nobody else knows about and that no one else could own

Etymology:

  • It has been recorded that it was a time in 16th century when most people didn’t use pocket in their dresses. This trend tended them towards hiding necessary things in their sleeves. Magicians also started using this trend as a trick to hide objects and even small living animals, i.e. rabbit, pigeons, and squirrel in their sleeves. They pulled them out surprisingly to amaze their viewers. Later in 19th century, card players trickily hid winning card mostly ‘an ace’ up their sleeves and showed it to other players. This trick was proposed to cheat others to win the game without letting them know about this trick.

It’s amazing just the way Sara manages the critical situations, she must have an ace up her sleeve.
