Etymology:

  • This expression originated from Bible (Isaiah 52: 8)... If the same thing is watched by two people sitting side by side, they must have same view of that thing in their mind. Since both are besides or are quite next to each other, so they would surely agree on what both are experiencing at the same time. Similarly the idea can be carried over to suggest if people think the same way doesn’t matter they live on opposite  sides or corners of the world, they can see eye to eye. They can agree to one another in different matters and opinions.
