Goody Two-Shoes

Etymology:

• It is an 18th century expression which originated from famous tale “The history of little two good shoes”. In this tale a little girl who had only one shoe to wear is given another one. After getting another shoe, she shows off her pair of shoe everywhere saying two shoes. Today this expression is used ironically as a “Goody Two shoes” to a thing or person who thinks he or she is perfect.
