Cooking With Gas

Etymology:

• It is an interesting expression, which is related with the practice of cooking. In old times, people used to collect wood for fire and the food was not cooked evenly. Especially, while cooking meat some parts were left unattended. With the advent of gas in 20th century cooking became very easy. It was a clean and effortless way of cooking food in less time. It meant that one is acting fast, clean and effectively to do something. This idiom is now used in different stories and plays to compliment nice efforts of a person.
